Well I really enjoy looking at everyone's pictures and decided to show off my latest mount. I shot this guy the 10th day of a 12 day hunt. I had the mount done by Full Moon Taxidermy and they did an awesome job.

Well it is a beautiful mount thanks to Clint and Ted Moon, they deserve all the credit for the mount.

This was my second attempt on stone sheep and won't be the last. This hunt started two days before August 1st. My pack weighed 66 lbs including 4 lbs of salt. I used an 300 wsm that weighed 8.5 lbs and thank goodness I brought a range finder because he was a long ways. It is the longest shot I have ever taken. I won't mention the distance to keep it civilized but I can say it was under 400 yds. Not to defend my actions and just to let you know, I did shoot over 300 rounds at the local range and knew where the shots where being placed.

What I can tell you, optics does make a difference. My partner had with him a Swaroski spotting spot and we counted the age of this guy at well over a km, I ranged a rock out crop that was shy of 300 yds for the rams and I randed it at 800 and something yards from us. I know before my next hunt I will have a Swaroski spotting scope.

Thanks for the comments,
Tim

Nice sheep and very realistic pose which show the horns well from several angles. Good job all round.
