Shed Hunting Update!

Curious to know how its been going out there, I have some free time and plan on going out. I was wondering if you guys are still seeing lots of bucks still packin'

found a few small ones. but there is still too much snow on the good spots, i figure another week

I have found a few, however on Saturday I did see 5 bucks in OK Falls still packin....

I picked up my first freshy driving up to PG yesterday. Probably could have scooped it up while still sitting in the drivers seat! Nothing like road shed hunting!

Sorry but being the neophyte I am.... are you guys talking about finding shed antlers? If so, I always wanted to pick some up! Where are some good spots to find them? Is it to late for elk sheds?

no tooley i don't think so, his legs are too short for all that snow! I have been using snowshoes to get up to the bluffs. beardy it's never to late i have found elk sheds out hunting in the fall, find your self some good wintering grounds and walk the game trails, the more beds you come into the better, have fun!

Yeah mowitch your probably right, Me and shed hunter went out this morning and he was dragging his tail after about three hours or so. Although I have to admit he out hunted me 2 to 1.

No matt we are a little south of you. We found three decent sized four points, one fresh and two old, all whities.

Yea, i was thinking sheds in PG? Snows waaaay too deep up here for sheds. Figure i will head south and pick some up on Sunday!

the more snow, the more stress on the game , the earlier they drop .just a theory but i believe it. thats why guys are seeing different drop times all over the province

I dont know about that. Theres still lots of bucks packing in the Peace and Muleys dont shed in Sask. until late Feb. early March. Took a drive out to the Gang and there was no bucks packing and very little snow on the ground.

I got pictures of the sheds shed hunter found, I think you guys need to find the deer that dropped and them up so I can come and hunt them this fall. Make sure they are close to the road as I am feeling a little lazy.

my little dog scares them off. All the deer (except one) that I have seen are still packing. I have only found one elk antler, and that was a skull covered in moss. I haven't found their wintering ground yet. Are you taking Wanda out shed hunting for her birthday?

BC Kev there are no deer up here in hunting season, they are here to winter and then the whitetails go to Oliver and the Mulies go to Clearwater.

Shed Hunter and I back out this morning, found one small winter kill but no sheds.

did he wear you out this morning, he told me you were trying so hard to impress him with what good shape you were in you kept walking past all the sheds.

Not a chance, I can't get in good shape when I have to stand and wait at the top of the hill all the time waiting for the old timer.

was up on the hill looking for sheds. a doe came up the hill going as hard as she could and right behind her two dogs, one collie the other looked like a bull dog. and of course no gun!
