Moose question region 4.

I am entering for a Leh in region 4, and not sure which MU is better. So if anyone round the area wanna try a shared hunt, or give someone some tips to good potential. That would be great.

I would put in either close to home or else in the Shiras areas.

Region 4 moose is not something that I bother making plans for (I apply in the LEH, but that is as far as it has gone to date).

I don't think anyone has any secret spots since the chance of getting a tag is slim at best. I put in for 4-1, around 350 other guys do as well.

There are no real bad areas close to home ( 4-34, 4-35, 4-36) , all hold reasonable numbers of moose. I usually go for the best odds. If your sucessfull in the draw, PM me and I'll try to give you some direction on where to start looking.

I had the LEH draw for 4-36 in 2006. I was there in early Sept for the bow hunting season. I hunted 4 long days in different areas. I saw no Moose and no sign of moose. I am an experienced moose hunter and have successfully hunted them in other parts of the province. I believe there were some threads on here last year as well with some hunters complaining about poor success in region 4 moose hunts. I do not recomend 4-36.

4-03 is very good for moose ,if it were me putting in for a region 4 zone that would be my the place for me.

The southern draws are about as close to slam-dunk as you can get for moose success, however 30:1 to 55:1 odds means you'll be old and crippled or dead before you're likely to get drawn. But what the hell, someone's gonna get drawn - I can't even get drawn on my 4:1 moose hunt.

Let us know if you get a tag and I'm sure someone on here will point you to the right swamp! :wink:
