Not a real heavy or a big bull IMO but I think he does have decent tine lengths...

But what would I know - its my first.

He's a Region 7 A elk nonetheless!

Click on "forum" at top of page, then look for a forum called "bugs and glitches", at the top of that forum is a couple of stickys telling you how to post pictures. You might have to resize your pictures as well.

bwhntr,
4 6pt bulls in 7 seasons? And with archery equipment to boot!! Excellent!

Some people around here might not believe that. They figger 6pts are virtually impossible to find. :)

I have a friend that has killed 8 6pt bulls in the last 8 years, and has been in on about 12 more with his father-in-law and a couple of friends in the same time period....all with rifles though (and in Reg 7, lest some people think I am talking about Will Primos or something)!!

Your 4 bulls are very impressive. Congrats again!

My bull from this year. You know it's been a good year when let the air out of a medium sized satellite, and it's one of your bigger bulls on the wall. I don't know if I'll ever put a big bull on the wall- passing up a six point is just way too hard me.

I've posted this pic before, but I thought that I should mention the color of it's coat. It was shot in Sept during the peak of the rut and as you can see was quite brown. I shot it near Gathto Creek. I was told that years ago, the Calgary zoo wanted to get rid of their elk. The outfitter on Gathto bought them and the group included some Roosevelt Elk. The elk were them brought up and released and interbred with the Rockies. That's why there are some dark coated elk up there, or so I was told. Interesting story anyways.

I did not get a head mount, just a nice European mount. I was primarily on a sheep hunt and we were heading back to the main camp to hunt the mountain behind the camp. I only shot it late in the day after agreeing with the guide that we would not lose the next day caping it, etc. and could get in a another day sheep hunting. If we had to cape it, I couldn't have sheep hunted that day. We went out the next morning, saw about 200 elk, maybe 5 six points, 8 moose, and only a half doozen sheep. Got my ram the following day on the other side of the mountain.
