This one was probably my biggest.....frig that was a long time ago !!!

Skull was over 20"s as I recall....although I shot him in the face rendering it unacceptable for book, they don't like cracks for some reason

Two of us could not lift him into the truck....I'm guessing he was well over 300-350 lbs....built like a little Tank no doubt about it.

Lottsa nose scars and stuff.......an Old Warrior for sure:cool:

My measuring stick for this spring:

http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/data/500/medium/P1010156_edited-3.JPG

6' 1" nose to tail w/ hide on. Heavy as all get out. Taxi-Guy estimated him b'tween 350 and 400 pounds. All I know for sure is that the only way he was comming out of the bush, was in much littler pieces.

Lots of meat in the head. His scull went 18 3/16"s
Yummy SOB...

Been fortunate to be in on some good bears the last few years. Still nothing for the wall for me. They take up a lot of wall space so it's gonna have to be an exceptional beast(or at least real purdy like srupp's).

Here's the nicest bear I've been in on. If I would have been the shooter I would have got this one rugged for sure. Some pics are cropped off the video cam so aren't the best quality.
Like Will's this one came with a multi-piece skull. "Squared" 6'11 1/2".

Here's another from this spring. Easiest bear for me so far.
Knicknamed him "Scarface" for obvious reasons. Squared 6'11".

Here's my most gratifying bear to date, also from this past spring. Chased him for the last two years and finally caught up to him last May 7th tahnks to a couple of members from this board as he was in a "hideous" location. Squared 7' but his back was scarred up pretty good and wouldn't make for a very good rug.
Nick named him "Beer Belly" ,again, for obvious reasons:roll:. Turned out to be a complete "meathead".

Stay away from harrison on any long weekend, the place is a zoo of drunken, pig like idiots. You'll need a good pair of boots and legs like a mountain goat as most of the terain is steep at best. However if you pass a guy in a blue dodge ram pick-up stop and say hi, as i'll most likely be back out there this year lookin for one of those elusive blacktail bucks.

Some great bears guys! I actually took quite a hiatas from bear hunting in the last decade until last year, I wound up shooting a small 5' cinimon with my 270wsm, and arrowed a 5'8" in the fall.
I think I am going to have to hold out for a true monster now!
Here's my two from last year....I wish I had a few pics of all the ones i had shot many years ago!

8 ft Pemberton bear hittin spuds and fish for years and years. saw him one day by accident at about 20 yrds ( never much of a b bear hunter till I saw him ) 3 seasons and $500 of fuel later I nailed him. 20 6/16...thought it was the biggest b bear I ever seen but then there's another Pemby bear runnin around that should go a bit over 8 ft , here's a couple pics of him 4 minutes before I checked my trail cam and a week after missing him with my bow.

Dont have much drive for b bears lately...would be cool if 'someone' nailed this bugger for a closer look !

the date on the cam wasnt set..but the time change in the pics tells all.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a very good camera at the time. These pictures were clipped from a video that I recorded. I watched this big guy for probably half an hour from about 75 yards.

Bears are funny. Hardest animal to judge and all these weight estimates.
Always wonder how many guys have hoisted up one, let alone enough on an accurate scale to be able to back their claims.

This one was 7'2" nose to tail, squared 7'5" IIRC and I would safely guess him to be 400lbs.
He was a "meat head" and he didnt crack 20"

I've seen lots of rugs, pics etc of bears that were "4 or 500lbs" and lacked everything this one had by 30%.
Very hard animals to judge especially at any distance, through glass or not.

Agreed, last year I was told by a guy that he passed on a 500 pounder on the island because it was too small. Then he told me he thought it was a sow too!
I'm not a good judge of weight on bears either but I know what is reasonable. I've gotten tricked by so many meat head, fatties only to find that a long lanky old bear has a 19-20" skull.

Yup, just like walking through the pub and seeing a gal thats 5' tall wieghing in at 150 dressed to impress, and a 5"6" that wieghs in at 120 in scrubby clothes only one is a good "specimen" in the end ;)

I took this bear in the spring of 2009. His hide with skull in squared at 6'8 1/2 and his skull was 19 10/16's. He was in a bad fight shortly before I put him out of his misery. Notice one eye all mangled.

This boar was shot by a friend ("Toyota Cowboy") last May. "TC" and his buddy got a double header that day. Can't remember the measurements of the hide and not sure if the skull has been measured but he was a ball dragger of a black bear.

Left for an afternoon of bear hunting, shoot bear at last light, broke down truck, 20 km hike-out, 'borrowed' truck from some random 'sleeping' a bush party, coffee, redbull, grab the dog, find the bear, 3 hour drag out to the truck. Nothing like leaving for the afternoon and coming back the next day at noon.

The 3 legged, 3 toed bear and he was a good 'un. All we got was two pictures.
