Very nice! What's the damage on a rug such as yours? I would like to do a blackie rug, maybe not this year but who knows? If the right bear comes along. Again Nice rug. Moosin

What was the final cost? for the rug mount? after you shot it how did you prepare it for the dermist? did you leave the head and paws still on and just skin the rest?

Gamebuster yes the taxidermist did an EXELLENT job..
After shooting ..took the hide off..skinned out the skull..turned lips.. split nose turned ears ..split eyes..took paws out...(hmmm maybe I left the paws in on this one??) and HEAVILY..HEAVILY SALTED..60 pounds of salt in every square mm of hide........ every crook and cranny.....

I did most things a lot of guys wont try as far as "CAPEING" out the hide..but the tax will do it for a extra few sheckels..

I dont know the final cost that was paid many many moons ago..in line with other taxies..and in talking today with Steve Prices may have changed...

The guys name is Steven Rutherford..and he runs and owns WILDLIFE DESIGNS 3080 PIDGEON RD. 150 MILE HOUSE..

His work on sheep deer bear cougars is awesome and I highly recomend him..he is a honest nice guy doing amazing work..the bear in all truth was a average bear nothing special...and Stephen made him look great..

Yes the shipping charges will be somewhat expensive to get him to my buddies house..

The Hermit..hmmm I already have a hunter from this site who I have volinteered to take him out for his first bear this coming spring.. I enjoy meeting new hunters and also helping and teaching what I have learned in over 30 years of hunting and guiding...

There is a special black bear I have been snooping after for the past 3 years...I have actually seen him once but it was too dark to get closer for a shot..his front foot measure 6 1/2 inches accross...I know he's over 7 feet but so far he's been much smarter than me but it gives me incentive to get out there every spring....

As for this bear I know my buddy will be thrilled with his new "roommate "...

hmmm we need to see some photos Elkhound......I was only meat hunting and didnt get to excited about a big ol black..I tried to find the big guy I have been seeing his tracks and a brief glimps of him in low light..no shooting conditions..he goes over 7' and several with nicer coats But settled for one close to the quad trail..lol never saw a brown or blond even though I have seen 40% off color in that region..

Leaseman good luck on the surgery and we'll definatly hook up for some fishing and fall hunting....

That's a great looking rug, I really like the detail in the face, its hard to find taxi's that can do a really good job on a bear or a cat face.
Didn't you take a coastal grizz this year, what will become of that?
