Hi folks:

What is the best way and most practical way to determine the difference while hunting? I am new to BC and Revelsoke and I don't want to wait until Sept to go hunting.

Thanks in advance for your comments.

I went years without shooting a "rabbit" because I had the same dilemma. After talking to a friend he said he had never seen any of the protected species. I imagine you won't have any issues hunting around Revelbush. Closer to the border in the Okanagan you might have higher odds of running into a cottontail or jackrabbit. Whack a few snowshoes in your area and get to know what they look like would be the best advice(at least from me).

as far as I know a jack. is larger w. much longer legs, and taller ears, I don't think I've ever seen one.

We're lucky over here on the island as there isn't any Hair just rabbits that were introduced so no confusion.

I would be really really surprised if you ever saw anything but snowshoe hare around Revelstoke. If you do you it is probably someone's escaped pet rabbit.

have a read of these, for distributions af the various different species.
