Squamish Elk

Hi Guys and Girls,

I was up the Squamish vallet today and saw 3 goats up on the cliffs. I got a few pics of em but they are so far awat you can hardly see em. One big guy and a couple little'er ones.
I also saw 3 elk a little lower down the cliffs from the goats. First time I have seen elk up their. It's nice to see em since they re-introduced them a few years back.

I'm gonna try and post pics of the elk for you guys, kinda computer stupid so bare with me k!

E-mail them to me and I'll post them up in the AM. I know a buddy that working on Helo's in Pitt Meadows, he tells me one of the pilots on a test flight above Stave lake saw 12 to 15 animals. Seems they're doing well.

what would the closest location are to Vancouver that has a decent elk crop, I've heard good things about Princton but never been. any info....

I was talking to a local (north van) native guy and he hunts everything up their. He got a Mt. Goat up their just before x-mas and it took him 6 days to get it off the Mt. He didn't say if he was able to hunt the Elk.

I have seen 18 elk at one time this yr. I dont think we will see LEH for a few yrs.
As for huning on the reservation I could not tell you. I have never seen to many of the local natives hunting at all. But they are trying to get control of the whole area.
