It is a northern pike minnow or also known as a northern squawfish..they are a predatory fish that eat young salmon and trout and their eggs..I read somewhere that they can eat a fish up to twice their size..nasty little buggers

Well Ken,
From Your pictures they all can be placed. Some of rivers I been fishing since the late 60's and THE Prawn Boat the owner is a good friend of mine

What kind of fish is that?

Un official, Northen BC Bear bait;)

It is a politically correct fish, the first I have ever known.

If you catch them, feed the bears. The little buggers eat everything, hence easy to catch.

Ya the puller is a savior. The boys and girls in green were out last week and pinched three guys who were 1200 over their limit.

The rivers have been good so far, saw 6 elk just upstream of where that first river picture was taken.

Hope to get out again, when I can shake this damn Vertigo virus.

I am not sure Marc. Usually I go after trout and bass. On that day I had some time but not enough to go far so I went down to the Fraser River where I caught that to me unfamiliar (but very nice tasting) fish. A friend said that it is a Northern Pikeminnow.

Alright! Must be the angle that the pic was taken that makes it seem much larger. Beauty Springer though, I always liked the Victoria break water.
Do you fish there still? Is it still productive for bottom fish as well as salmon? The last time I was there a Comm' boat had killed a Huge six gill and it was left floating near the BW, it was sad to see such a fish left for the Gulls'
