New toy, can't wait for spring bear

I have been looking for something new, well I guess more like a change. I have been very successful in the shotgun area on the Island in the last few years as well as my hunting buds. So much so I thought I would put a little bit more sport into it. I recently purchased a Horton Crossbow and cant wait to give this thing a try!! I have hunted with a bow before but just from firing this thing YIKES, if I was a deer or bear I think I would rather be shot with a rifle, this thing is going to leave a mark!

Man is my trigger finger ichy!!!:-P

Anyone ever take a bear with a crossbow here???

Plenty around here that have taken bears with Bows....I may be mistaken but I'm pretty sure the end result would be similar :smile:

Best of Luck though...I'm also gonna take a Poke for my 1st archery bear this Spring.
I've been in on dozens with rifles so I'm in no rush.....but it will be the highlight of '08 for me I'm sure:razz:

Never done it with a cross bow, but done it several times with a compound. Its a rush.
