Hey everyone this is my little Muley buck that I shot on Nov 11 around Deca Lake in 100 mile.

I had positioned myself in this little pocket slash while Dave (Elkhound) and a friend of ours Scott moved along the road a little more to where there was another big group of good looking slashes, that I had seen a nice buck and a couple does in the day before. I had spent about half an hour pacing back and forth looking for good sized sticks and such to create a make shift blind/wind break out of. After it was sufficient enough to stop the wind from freezing my face I nestled in and tried to make my self comfortable. But before I can even put my binos around my neck I see movement along the road that I had walked in on. I instantly thought to my self Sh!t somebody has taken the effort to move the dead fall I had slid across the road at the beginning of the slash!

After a quick Look with binos I saw that it was a deer, and a buck at that. He was definately love struck as he wound his way back and forth across the road and into the thick stuff. Finally after a few moments of watching him zig zag his way towards me I lost sight of him. I waited for what seemed like forever untill he popped up less then a 150 yards from me, and he was heading straight for my little blind.

Not being picky and seeing his great big body, I decided to take him at about 125 yards. BOOM my 7 mag barked and he fell like a rock, didn't even kick? I have never actually seen a deer go down like that, It was awesome! I gave out a quick yell of excitement after I had kept my cross hairs trained on him for a few moments. Then it was time to get dirty! I was really excited at the size of him, He is the biggest bodied deer I have got to date! We estimated him somewhere between 220-230 dressed if I remember correctly, it felt more like 300 dragging him onto the road.

Hes not the biggest buck but hes damn tasty, and yup he stank!

Nice going Symon. He definitely is a stocky sucker and looks pretty big bodied for a 2-point.

Hey nice Army and Navy camo - I have that exact set too. I wasn't looking for camo, but it was the only set of cheap fleece pants I could find with thigh pockets. And the price was right.

Congrats.
