Moved a blind to our goose field to get more options out there. It's paying off.
Getting a few lately, bigger birds up to 14# but most around 10#.

Young Clayton got his first 2 geese a week ago!

Wow, great pics as always Dano... turning all the meat into sausage?

Most of it hits the sausage pile.
My buddy said he is slow cooking some legs though.
Clayton took 4, he cleans his birds himself and his mother cooks them up for the family. It’s a pleasure to take him out. Next year he’ll be 12 and we should have him shooting 2 shells to start the season instead of just 1. He’s shown great safety and muzzle awareness on our hunts!

Very cool! I’d love to do some waterfowl hunting.

Is that a Browning A5 I see in a couple of the photos? Engraving on the receiver looks amazing. Stock looks kind of dark vs the vintage A5's I own. Aftermarket?

It’s a 1991 DU Auto 5. I bought it for about $1300 off a guy in Ontario years ago. It had been shot a few times and the collector value was gone.
I used it on nice days until the original wood butt stock broke off behind the grip. Complex wood structure I guess and dried out.
The present stocks are Composite Browning Stalker series that was used on Auto 5’s in the ‘90’s. I also bought a 32” Magnum barrel with Invector plus chokes and sold the original 30” barrel that had Invector choke threads. It works great for me, I’ve always shot Auto 5’s great but this gun is great to hold and look at!

I have a couple well used older A5's. It would be nice to get a new barrel for steel shot. I just loaded up a bunch of bismuth for next season after having shot a few loads of steel to bag waterfowl in the last several seasons.

Plain Jane workhorse scatterguns ;). Fore stocks on both had cracks I repaired with a patch of glass/epoxy on the inside. Rear stocks are fine.

Long full choke barrel has taken some birds.
