I found this site a while ago, and have been lurking since. This year I've become obsessed with muley hunting our group took two nice bucks.

I was sent these pics from a friend yesterday. He took them last week, and for our area he is a monster. A 180 buck is usually a big deal. Any guesses on how tall those G2's are? Gross score?

I put some other pictures of this buck in the photo gallery.

Karl.

Karl, beautiful buck. I'd guess he's in the 180s, can't tell the weight or balance and his tines don't look extra long.
Again, beautiful buck!

Real nice buck - congrats on finding him and best of luck tagging him next year!

I would argue hed be into the 190s, looks way to big of a frame to be in the 180s. Maybe net 180s?

Anyways, great pics - thanks for a teaser for next season!

180 gross i think not he is a bit better than that that thing is a cannon i got a 180 net typical on the wall and the buck in these pics dwarfs mine by far unless this deer in the pic has a body half the size of a doe and the antlers just look big but i doubt that this buck is a pig for sure

bc-shedder, thanks for putting those up for me....

When I first saw the pics I knew he was an awesome buck for our area. I've only ever seen one other buck that might be comparable to this one, and i'm out in the bush 200+ days a year doing forest development work.

We're going to try hunting that area hard next year. He likely just came down the mountain a ways from where they were rutting. There's really not that much snow here yet (creston area) so maybe he hasn't moved that far...???

I've been comparing the pic to my buddy's 181 and my 173 gross bucks from this year and he seems to easily gross over 200NT. It's been a good year for mulies around here with at least 5 or 6 taken in the 180's.

Those G2's just seem to go up forever...

Wicked buck!!! no doubt an inline buck .... now you just gotta be there when he drops, hope to see some pics of you holding his sheds, in the weeks to come!

Nice find! Hopefully you can get his sheds before the critters start chewing on them.

I wouldn't think that buck would have a problem hittin' 200.

I got a copy of the original photogs e-mailed to me too. That is a dandy buck alright...easily in the 200 NT ballpark.

I have a question for ya though....advertising a buck like that on a website like this, and admitting where it came from....are you trying to make Creston the next Clearwater??? :)

Cheers,

It sure is a purty "Trash Factor" buck. Its gotta go about 31 to 32" wide with those cheaters. 18 to 20" G2s, weak fronts, but at least 22 to 25" of trash, IMHO. Very sweet.

Sssster, I don't see why saying where the ballpark area from which this buck comes from makes any difference at all. Now if I started naming drainages or something like that, that's different. There is alot of country around. I also stated that I felt this was a really rare occurence for around here... Virtually every area in the interior produces the odd 200 inch buck...

No worries. Was just teasin'.....although I probably would have lied about it. :)

Yeah..only 4000 kms of logging roads there.. Could be anywhere from the ferry landing on kootenay lake to the summit of the salmo creston ..to yahk cut off.. Small area compared to ..... The whole province... shouldn't take you more than 70 days to cover it all...

Kinda sounds like the Clearwater area. LOL! Those that think there is a 200 incher behind every tree must be disappointed when they can't even find a dink 4 point to cut their tag on.

Seeing the upclose pics, I think that buck will be close to 210. Those backs are just freakin huge.

The more I look at it and run the math in my head, the more I tend to agree with that.

Even though the fronts look a little weak, the main beams have to be 25" or so.

Those photo's arent really closeup, just cropped and zoomed in a bit, however it still is a dandy, wish they had a good camera

I'd have to agree with the boys here my old man has a mulie went 212 and its not as wide as that but has a little more mass. I'd have to think its pushing 200

That's why I called them "closeup". ;) I took the higher res version of the previously posted pics that I had on-hand, and cropped/resized a bit....thought that was pretty obvious. :p :)

I do wish the pics were clearer too....just happy the fella got pics at all though, so we can all enjoy it.

Awesome buck, thanks for the pics. I would guess he is in the 200-215 mark. Super tall and he does have decent mass...

Glad to see a great buck is alive and well. I had the unfortune of coming across a great buck on Friday evening without a camera:eek:. While he didn't have the extra's this guy does his main frame was pretty close. I watched him walk a fenceline right past someones front window. I would have guessed him at 28 wide and 24 tall, good forks... again I kick myself for leaving my camera:frown:.

Thanks again for sharing those pics.

Cheers
