It appears that, in 2024, there will be no GOS for caribou in the province. Proposed reg changes for next year include LEH only for caribou. Stakeholders (GOs) have been advised by email.

That is only valid for those of you who identify as living in the year 2024. I identify as living in the year 1990. I get to hunt grizzlies.

They will try and make all species LEH only eventually, wouldn't be surprised if all or most Sheep go LEH next year too. There are powerful people who dont want you hunting or owning arms and they have a firm grip on this nation by her hair.

I suspect its more about who is able to control who hunts rather than no one hunting...

Hopefully this will get shot down before the next season. I would love to see a copy of the email the ministry has supposedly sent out.

I saw some leaked documents on Facebook a month ago with maps and tag allocations. Didn’t screen shot it before it was removed. Apparently it was presented at the last AHTE and then will go to public engagement this winter. Like anything, it seems public engagement is just a step used to say that it was used, but it sure looks like it’s happening in 2024

It didn't copy and paste perfectly, but that's the document from FB.

Well that is going to make it hard to plan a hunt. Damn Leh doesn't come out till June or July these days. Going to be interesting were they draw the lines for these hunts. Those herds don't just live in certain MU's there constantly moving and there is large amount of overlap between herds.
BC residents are dying the death of a thousand cuts.
