Found these the other week, you think Rosies or Blacktails left these? They are clearly fresh (minus the last one) and clearly aggression/rut rubs, with some shavings still ontop of the ferns wind hadn't even blown it off yet when I found it. Right at the peak of BT rut. I put some cams up so we'll see. Some say Elk, I think Bucks, if it Bucks they will be good sized. Would Rosies still be rubbing like that this late?

Most certainly elk! They will rub long after the rut. Actually right up until they shed antler

Maybe i'm wishful thinkin its a monster Buck, I did find scat the size of my watch face. But two Bucks I glassed in the summer I went down to there beds found the same sh!t nuggets in the Bucks bed so unless they share beds with Elk, been wonderin that? Never seen Elk at this spot, but 20km away I have so that is nothing for Elk obviously they are around.

It looks like the rub starts too far up the tree to be deer and ends too far up.

Well, you guys are definitely right. Though there are Bucks there and Buck rubs, those ones were definitely from Elk. Should of known better naive of me, mind playing tricks looking for Big Bucks I guess. Ones got a broken main beam. The pic from this weekend, I got to the cam 15 minutes after he passed through, smelt somethin on the way there, anyhow I ended up catchin up to them heard em first stoppped and they walked by me at 30 yards 3 bulls, didnt have a clue I was there was a frickin cool experience.

Look at the size difference to the Buck, same photo and frame just night and day!!!

That's for sure! I knew they rubbed outside of rut and velvet shedding but didn't know they still shredded trees so aggressively outside of rut, crazy. Learn somethin new every season. Also learnt that Bulls and Bucks share beds, although i'm sure if the Bull walked up and the Buck was in it he'd kick his a** out.

The body size is definitely a crazy comparison. The reason I love hunting elk, lots of premium meat. Probably got a deers worth of meat just off the neck and backstraps

sweet find
