Kids Buck

After the Kids not being able to hunt deer last fall, due to a broken collar bone from hockey, we were able to get out a bit this year.

The plan was to hunt off the ATV's for the day but it was pretty cold for that. Ended up just using the truck and sneaking into a few spots just far enough off the main road to hold deer.

Next thing you know we were seeing deer, and then there was a buck to shoot at! The Kid didn't waste any time and down went the buck!

He shoots a Lefty Xbolt 270win using Hornady Lite 120grn ammo.
He won rifle a couple years ago in WeatherbyFan's youth hunting contest, when he shot his first deer.
The RH bolt was to hard for him to handle tho, so I traded it for this one.

Thanks guys! The Kid was pretty happy for sure!
He's definitely happy with his rifle and has practiced quite a bit lately

The buck was a bit smelly and was hot on a doe, but she didn't seem to want anything to do with him.
He had a big puncture in the front I assume from fighting with another buck. You can see the green mess on him in the picture
