Went to Cowan Point yesterday at 4PM and had a great time for 3 hours. Limit of hatchery Cohos, 6 or 7 wild ones released, 5 springs released. Glow hootchie with sparkles did the best on Cohos, most Springs on a yellow and green SkinnyG. Flashers were yellow and green with a red blob. Speed between 3 and 3.5 mph.

That's awesome, a co-worker went out last week and had the same results, mentioned he also came home with crab and prawns, fantastic days on the water!

Most of the cohos at 40' to 45'. I went 85' to 95' with the spoon and that's where the springs were caught

Yup, the coho fishing has been phenomenal this season.
Especially the fact there are many hatchery in the system!
Reading the last Pacific Angler report from Friday, folks are a little puzzled where all the hatchery are coming from.
Not that anyone is complaining mind you.
But shows what a difference hatcheries can make and what potential there is for a marked select fishery for Chinook, if allowed and if all hatchery are 100% clipped,

These Coho are much fatter than I remember them being this time of year. One of them was stuffed with herring (or maybe anchovy).

I believe minimum size is 30 CM, but I don't think you'll see any that small this time of the year. A couple of the Coho in the box were crowding 10 lbs. Limit is 2 per person, but as always, double check the regs, as confusing as they are.
