Folks, my neighbour's family of four drew a Bull Moose (8-07 November); they actually messed up the LEH application that they were intended to draw the October one but I guess it still worked out that at least they got a draw. Other than the householder of the family had experience in hunting and quartering black bear and mule deer (doe tag), the other three members are fresh new hunters. I wish I could help them but I have a more important hunt to participate. Not asking for any spot but for overall access and animal density, which area in 8-07 is more ideal for my neighbour's group? I thought Princeton-Jura side is the "better side" but Hedley-Keremeos's side also looks pretty promising. Feel free to weigh in your tips and recommendations, thanks in advance.

Now people are getting their neighbors to do the internet scouting (asking for honey holes) for them?

He doesn't really know about this forum; he asked in Facebook group.

pretty rare these days when most people are unwilling to help when they can't get any draw

I'm east of that MU & do most of my hunting relatively locally, including some areas of MU3 & 4 that border my regions. Anywhere from 1-2 hours drive from Vernon. I've spotted moose both in 8 & 3, not sure about 4 but I'm sure they're there. Best advice is to find an area that has water, preferably lakes & concentrate your efforts there.

Most of my sightings have been at an alpine lake that I fish in the summer & hunt in fall. Fishing's always great but I have yet to cut an ungulate tag up there despite my sightings. Caught a good look at a cow, calf & spiker one year but it was before GOS for spikers by about a week...

Mountainous region, elevation is a game changer & snowy FSRs are all but guaranteed above 1200 or so meters come late October, early November. If there's no active logging chances are narrower spurs won't be ploughed. It was a 1/2 to 3/4 hr hike through a good 2 feet of snow in places to get to the tree stand from where I took the photo. I usually go to a rec site across the lake & paddle there but the road to the site was already impassable. Definitely prepare for the worst.
