July 5th, 2023, from 6-8pm at the North Peace Rod and Gun Club

Hosted by the North Peace Rod and Gun Club (https://www.facebook.com/nprgc) and Ministry of Forests Wildlife Biologists, BC Wildlife Federation (https://www.facebook.com/BCWildlifeFederation) and the Wild Sheep Society of BC (https://www.facebook.com/WildSheepSocietyBC). Come refresh your skills and knowledge of wild sheep ageing and horn assessment at the 2023 Wild Sheep Ageing Workshop!

There were an unprecedented number of sheep ceased in Region 7B in 2021 — many did not meet the criteria of being full curl or eight years of age. 2022 was much better, but there were still too many illegal sheep harvested in the region — hunters need to do better in their field assessment of sheep and need to understand the importance of harvesting older rams.

Everyone is welcome! The evening will include a brief presentation on sheep ageing techniques, tips and tricks, and wild sheep hunting regulations. There will be time for discussions and questions and many sheep will be on display to get your skills honed-in for the upcoming sheep season.

Experienced or rookie sheep hunter, don't forget about the sheep horn aging workshop at the North Peace Rod and Gun Club on Wednesday evening, July 5, 2023. Brought to you by the BC Fish and Wildlife staff, the North Peace Rod and Gun Club, Wild Sheep Society of BC and the BC Wildlife Federation.

In 2021, too many sheep were seized because they weren't legal by curl or age. Experienced or rookie — We need to do better.

Here's hoping things go better than last year, seems to have set a new low bar
Sadly, most sheep hunters won't be in the north for the meeting

maybe the packers and air charters could have a pamphlet handout as a reminder
