We have an old homemade woodstove we use in our wall tent and I'm thinking of giving it a makeover. It's pretty rusty these days. What do you think the best paint to use after we get it all cleaned up to handle the temp extremes, and wear and tear of packing and unpacking in the hunting equipment?

I use a lot of high heat paints (1000*) in my work. The nice thing with these exhaust paints is their high silica content, which also makes them very durable.

Whatever you coat your stove with, the key thing is to get it cranking hot at least twice before you get it going inside the tent. That way any burn off will occur out side and not when you are freezing and inside the wall tent. I am a dealer for a line of wall tent stoves (as well as home wood stoves and pellet stoves) and my new stove in my house this year still off gassed a fair bit even with the factory baked on finish.
