Big game or small game, sometime's hunters have to get creative to transport game from place to place, and sometimes we have to just use traditional methods but, it makes for great pics all the same....so everyone please feel free to post those pics on this thread, I'll start:

Pretty funny how so many whine that there isn't enough hunting content on this site, then don't contribute... and moderators maybe you folks should consider leaving new posts up in the 'new posts' section for longer?

This bull was wrestled to the truck whole and then cut up so everything could fit for the ride home 650lbs at the butcher iirc. Second biggest body he ever had.

It was soooo windy that day we had to cut our way in on the main road to get to the area. Soon as we hit the leeward side of the mountain the bugling fest began.

Maiden voyage with the newly acquired tetapod, 2014 iirc. I saw it on tv and had to have one. Fits 2 big bull moose 1/4 up And their heads. Thats a load for and atv to pull, especially if there is gumbo!

4 1/4s and the head of a 48 inch moose on one grizzly. 4 kms of cut block and 30k of o&g roads to get back to the truck. Had to hack a trail into the middle of nowhere and repel the atv up and down a steep canyon to get the bull out to a manageable area to start the final trek out. Thank God for warn winches. Was only 1 hour late for thanks giving.
The loins, packs and saw went on the other 2 up atv. Poor grizzly, no wonder the frame eventually broke.

A beautiful doe and her little bucks and fawn. Lol. We bought this kodiak in 2001 before we had kids. It has pulled and hauled many moose, elk and deer and now the little bucks ride it all over and do the same. Its a 21 year old atv and it still runs perfect. It has probably 30000 k on it now. Who knows as it only has a tripometre on it…..
Still packing elk/ moose and camp in every year. I find that very impressive.

One time I had the whole front 1/2 and head of a 6 point elk on the front rack of this kodiak 400 and my 220lb buddy in the back seat. I told him to get off so I could crawl over the last log so he could get back to the truck and I endoed it.lol

In the early 2000s a 400 was a BIG strong ATV. Wish I had a picture.

It's a Sears brand winchester made in Ontario. 270 win, with 140gr accubonds! Shoots pretty well too, for an old gun! Model 61 or something like that? Paid 200 bucks for it, couldn't pass that up!! Moosin

Lol that's awesome....

It's a Sears brand winchester made in Ontario. 270 win, with 140gr accubonds! Shoots pretty well too, for an old gun! Model 61 or something like that? Paid 200 bucks for it, couldn't pass that up!! Moosin

Didn't pack any hide, other than what was on the head and legs, wanted to keep the head, and unfortunately I forgot a saw that trip so, had to pack those sections of the legs...

A whole bull elk on my grizzly 700. That machine has packed countless game out and surveyed in northern alberta for 10 years. It has 17000kms on it. Great machine, still runs perfect and that is the original belt.

One of the apples of my eye with his second 48 inch moose. He was 16 at the time. It was a 4 km stalk and then 4 ks back for the machines and then 4 kms of blow down to get back in. That trip yielded a triple header for bull moose. It was nice to have 4 machines to divide up the loads. That a friends razor.

My hunting partners bull, got him at 4 pm after hiking all day, came in quite as a mouse to the bugle. He died in a steep ravine and my partners back went on him right when we started butchering him. Was a really hard, but great day. Second bull in 2 days. First one was another high noon bull, came in screaming.

Passed on this guy at last light as he was down a very steep hill. Came back the next morning with my bicycle, he was right where left him the previous evening. After the shot he ran even further down hill….. when i got to him, i look up and there is a buck standing where i shot from on the road, what a burn! Decided against a solo double header (R2). Didnt want to cut him in half as i knew he wouldnt fit well on the bike that way but had too. Road the bike where the road was good, walked it where it was worse, fell a few times. Shot around 7 or 8am, back to the van by 1pm

they get flooded out by all this political BS on here. If guys want to cry about politics all day there’s plenty of sources on reddit

Listen up, you need to stop being a juvenile, seriously take your moms tit out of your mouth and become an adult. Look around and listen. The butchers are closing, you can’t buy ammo, food processing plants are spontaneously combusting, there is a consorted effort to have us eat bugs for our protein, there is a war against meat eating and livestock farming, an egg shortage, the leader of the Canadian libtards wants to take away our hunting guns, the UN wants to manage our wildlife, and take hunting away from the non indigenous……. Do you think these things are all happening by chance these days?????

Hunting stories and hunting in general don’t matter if we don’t have the freedom to participate in it. The politics of this matter. When have you seen people this concerned all over the world and here in Canada?
Drop the ego, you got it wrong. Its not BS, its deeply concerning. Stop passing off your feelings about it as some kind of fact.

This fellow was a lover and a fighter. Broken tines, ripped ears, ripped nose, scarred up face, blind in one eye from likely being stabbed in it from a tine. Got him still hunting, he was with a big group of does in a mid day bedding area. He didnt know what hit him. The meat was tender and delicious, that was a surprise. Probably only a 3-4 year old deer.

No. Neither of us has shared the story of this hunt. My partner was going to do a magazine article (where he has been published before several times) but for some reason they weren’t interested.

The rafts we used were definitely not something we’d use again for drifting. Next size up would have been a better option.

I remember drifting down the river loaded to the nines and thinking this was one of the most gratifying moments of my hunting career…regardless of the size of the rams.

This picture says plenty for those of you who havent hunted sheep or have but haven't figured it out yet. Take one look at Steve's boot tread. Those boots are going to be between 3-5 years old only. By year 5, they're done. I don't say this to dissuade you. It's just reality. That there is why they smile the way they do. The horns are only a validation of the race that they ran. Congrats guys. Some good representations there in your hands.

Some times they do not fit showphoto.php (http://www.huntingbc.ca/photos/showphoto.php?photo=32677&title=dsc00300&cat=500)
Not much fits in the door of a cub.

Her pack is there, she he packed out 18 lbs of sheep meat for me that trip, the last couple km’s the creeks were too deep for her with her pack, so I tossed it over a horn tip. She always packs in her food, then comes out with either meat or garbage.

2km each way, times 7 trips. She packed 10-15 pounds of moose each trip on this hunt. Best partner Iv ever had.

Like the pic Decker. A sheep makes the trip extra special:)

That was my first ram after 10 seasons, one of my most memorable hunts for sure :)

This is a 300lbs deer. Was a real struggle to get him situated on the atv. I had to winch myself out of a few creek bottoms on the way out to avoid flipping backwards.

Getting it on.. Cut 3, 4” trees 8’ long lean on the rack like a ramp. Flip one end of the deer up one side of the ramp then the other then the other, 8 or 10 flips it’s on. I’ve done half a moose at a time by myself couple of times.
Hills.. I take the seat off especially with my old 3 wheeler, put it on the front, move the load as far forward where the seat was as possible. Tying jello down on a ATV is not the easiest thing but after 40+ years it gets easier. I drive standing on one side, sometimes sitting on the meat, whatever works.

He was, I kept the heart and liver, was as big as a young elks. He is good eating too. Shot him on halloween at noon at a natural lick on a windy day. A decent rack but short tines. He was just a young deer I think, head had great teeth.

My longest conveyance to date, their always heavier when you’re solo.

For big deer, I put the rack and head on the foot board and then get on the opposite side and grab the rack and pull them up onto the seat at an angle to the back rack. Then it just needs to be positioned to the rear and strapped down so it can’t dislodge itself. For moose and elk its 1/4 up and a few on the front and the rest on the back. Too much and you will brake the frame eventually. A good trailer is best. Thanks for the tips I will incorporate that in as needed. Always amazing what some ingenuity will accomplish.

I am going to add, it looks like a 12 ft camper with slides, AND a boat rack, generator, and a few bikes hanging of the back. Lol. What a load!!!

My youngest like to complain when we hike any good distance, my response is “ buddy, one day you will be an old, old man and you will WISH you could be hiking in the bush so stop complaining and keep hiking while your legs and heart will do it, one day you’ll miss this”

^^^^^ looks all snuggled in. I’ve done 1/4’s of moose on a tarp, was just enough crust on the snow that just when it got up on the crust it collapsed. Even on on the level it was still up hill.

First fly-in sheep hunt had it all . . . unsuccessful air drop, high heat that is the birthplace of chaffing (did I hear Gold Bond!), more bugs than most urban folks would care to see in a lifetime, out of comfort river crossings, fires, smoke . . . Shortly after drop off there was a quarantine placed on travel into the backcountry so we had total solitude, saw sheep and more sheep and surfaced 15 days later with packs loaded like we got lucky at a yard sale!
