Just had a couple questions regarding Garmin GPS collars for my hound… I have been looking into the Astro 900, but no one seems to have it in stock, including the Garmin website. Is it discontinued?

Also I have heard the Alpha 200 will work north of the border (though not legal). Has anyone had any luck running other new or older Garmin GPS collars and keeping the software updated here in Canada?

Thanks in advance!

GPS City offers this. Looks like they might get in stock shorty.

Your better off going with the Alpha 100 or 200. No problems with ordering them online and getting them across the border. Double U hound supply is a great place to deal with.

They all work fine.
Def go with an alpha 100 or 200.
I have a spare 100 and 8 spare collars I’d consider selling. Not cheap as they cost a bloody fortune to get here after duty, taxes and USD exchange rate etc

That is the T900 add-on collar only. Garmin discontinued the 900 at least two years ago. It was specifically brought in for the Canadian market, but the market did not like the reduced range vs their other US based Alpha collars[QUOTE]
