time to start my 2023 thread i guess

Awesome 1 hour quick fish this morning,,,,hooked/landed 11,,,,,decided to keep my 5 fish limit for the smoker https://i.imgur.com/EW1QDWHl.jpg

Nice job man! What were ya using for lures and bait? Has anyone had success catching when putting a flashlight underwater within 1 m of your hook as per the allowable methods in the regs?

was using a tungsten jig head,,,,,,,had some shrimp left over from Christmas,,,,,(the standard shrimp rings for gatherings),,,sliced them into bite peices,,,,,i use same thing everywhere,,,,never fails,,,doesnt matter which lake i go too,,,gonna be going again tomarrow,,,,,want/need 15 fish total for smoker,,,,already ate all my salmon from south thompson,,,so need to boost my food resources :)

My 13" Scorpio just arrived yup,,,its a savage .22,,,FV-SR,,,might use it for competition,,,,testing a whole bunch of different brands of ammo through it first,,,amazingly the CCI standard velocity is shooting the best,,have about 3-4 more brands to go through then ill make my decision

Arctic Lake catch big rainbows and big bulls,,,,the whitefish will be coming in shallow soon,,,thats usually when i stop fishing the river until mid august for salmon fishing

woooo doggy,,,,was out back my property fiddling with garden,,,HUGE brown phase black bear walked right behind me about 15 yards,,,he seen me didnt care,,kept strolling,,,,guessing aprox 5-6 years old give or take,,,still lots of body mass to him for this early in year,,,the bear been cruising up here since 1st week of march,,,,,i was itching just bought my tags

Do you brine your roe sacks or do you have some other way to cure them?i cure them with borax for 3 days,,,,will keep in freezer for aprox 3-4 years,,,the chinook i caught tonight was from roe i cured back in 2021
