Does anyone know if the ministry still accepts teeth for aging. I shot a mature mulie and want to find out it's age, does anyone know how to go about doing it??

you can still do it, they don't do it like they use to but if you know the Biologist they might be willing to do it for you.

You can section the teeth and count lines under a microscope. We were shown how to do this a few years ago, I am sure a Google search could help.

Here is a link if your very serious, www.matsonslab.com (http://www.matsonslab.com) in Montana, Gary and his team are one of the best in the business. Their lab will analyze any teeth for that matter. The results will be surrounded with confidents limits, especially with the older animals as they are more difficult to do using cementum. As an animal becomes older the annuli get the closer together and they start to appear like there stacked on top of each other and its hard to get an accurate age. If you plan on it contact him first and ask what tooth he prefers, for different species there is some variability. This lab does practically all of the aging for most research projects thoughout N/A.
