After having my last minute whitetail chased off by a big male coyote, I decided to go back in tonight and pay him a visit.

A little cottontail in distress action and he was enroute over 900+ yds of open ground...at 121yds I decided he was close enough.

280AI and 140gr TSX was ample....

We heard coyotes out back of our place on the edge of the city a couple of nights ago. One was 300yards out and the rest 100 yards. The wife thought she heard and elk bugle then too. The next day we are out for a walk with the dog and we find out what she heard was a muley fawn getting taken down by the coyotes. They have been around but have never taken anything this close before. Might be time to get out the 17HMR and get one in close and thin them out a bit!
