I know it's kinda late in the game but wondering if anyone still seeing black bears in Pemberton area? Thinking of giving it a shot over this long weekend.

Haven't seen one for awhile but I've sure seen them in November in the past. Sorry I don't have any leads for you other than they will be around food sources like farmer fields.

Heard it could be a decent area for blacktail hunting this time of year.

At the begining of October all the bear sign I saw was already looking a month old or more. That said, I saw one about a kilometre away walking across a bare rocky outcropping on a steep forested hillside. Saw a large black spot from below while walking on a road and put the binos on it, looked away for a second and it wasn't there any more.

hmmm not familiar with the area..nor the temps.... IF there are berries and frost has hit the berries it will concentrate the sugars in the berries MUCH higher up the food source ladder of experienced bears...FYI

They are still out there, one visited my porch a couple days ago.
We already had -21C temperatures and about 5 inches of snow on the ground.

Out hiking in the woods today I came across fresh bear tracks in the snow.

Thanks all. Never saw a track or sign of pretty well anything. Tried up Hurley pass and Lillooet River. Me thinks you have to be part Mt Goat to hunt this terrain. Straight up coastal rocky nasty stuff. Oh well..cool thing was we saw a grizzly in a field off Pemberton Meadows road.
