$1.60/ Lbs is the going rate. Scott/ 00Buck on HBC does a great job he is in Langford on Vancouver Island. I would recommend him as he did my moose, and the price was fair. He also does pepperoni, salami ect. Great guy deal with.

Sumas Meats I think was 1.50/lb or maybe 1.25/lb cut and wrapped.

Fancy sausages 3.50 (pepperoni, jalapeno cheddar smokies) regular sausage (garlic ring etc) 2.50/lb I think

Got our moose done there. Everything has been delicious, highly recommend. 330lbs of meat done with lots of pepperoni, smokies etc cost $537 total.

I paid 1.00/lb in Houston for 1 moose and 1.10/lb in Smithers for the 2nd moose.

1.60/lb sounds atrocious to me.

Uli is a great guy and raised doing it...and has a great team... quality is always top notch and he treats your animals as individuals and always puts his best foot forward.

1.50/lb average cut and wrap. 2.50-4.50/lb for sausage/pepperoni depending on what you want and where you go. Sumas is great. Also tried Iron Meats? Or something in Pitt Meadows. They were good also but expensive pepperoni although delicious.

We paid $1 in Mackenzie. Know someone in PG that does $0.95. Depends really where you are, but up north the average is $1/ lb.

do it yourself.
wet age in bags for a week on ice or in a freezer between 0 and 5C, then cut and pack.
your yield will be greater and you'll get your own ground back.

Paid $1.09/pound in the Cariboo for a moose this year. Was hard to find one with room to take it and the heat was a little much to hang it without a cooler.

Took my moose to Iron Butcher Custom in Pitt Meadows. Cost was $1.25 lb wrapped on 550 lb hanging weight of quarters. Very impressed by their service and turn around. Located on farm yard so lots of room for hitched trailer parking. Quality & cleanliness was way better than popular Abbottsford cutter IMO. Last time all the ground had weird smoky taste.. Gross..

The 99 mile grocery store used to hang game in their cooler, or they did 2 years ago when I need one.

I used 99 Supermarket in Hundred Mile for a day and they were great! $5 a hook / day. $20 for my moose quarters. No other choice as it was 20+ degrees last week in September.

Rick’s Meats in Cranbrook $1.50 lb. What got me was $45 rush cut if it was to be done before 14 days. I would have had to shoot it before I got there. I could understand under 7 days but 14?

Sadly you will probably see more and more of this kind of stuff as there are not that many butchers around and you will see prices rise as places get busier and busier. We used Ricks in 2021 and they would send someone down even when closed to open the place up to accept your animal. This year (2022) because of staff shortages they said they would not being doing that and I get it. The group next to us got a bull early on and had to go get a ton of ice to keep their elk cool as the Monday was also a stat holiday and Ricks would be closed. So 2 days in the near 30 degree temperatures.

If Ricks stops processing wild game and the guy in kimberly closes down, then what will the options be, everyone will have to bring a big freezer and gen set to keep it running.

not sure the total number at Ricks meats in cranbrook but last year my elk was like number 27 and that was on Sept. 5. The last elk for our group was shot on sept 9th and I think it was #45 if memory serves me right. This was junior season deer and archery elk. Would like to know what their season total would be.
