So after being on 3 whitetail kills in 2 days earlier this month, see http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=16894 (http://www.huntingbc.ca/forum/showthread.php?t=16894)),
I finally managed to get a decent 4 point Mulie in Region 3 last Sunday. Not the elusive hog I was after, but I guess I ran out of patience after seeing so many good bucks posted on here lately!

So thanks to some connections my brother has we were able to hunt some vast areas of private land. He has been hunting this area pretty hard this year and knows some of the deer patterns well now and has seen (and missed) some real good bucks. The morning didn't go as planned as it was quite foggy. My bro and Dad went to one spot, myself and his father in law to another. They saw 40+ Deer, one smallish 4 point my Dad passed up and some little bucks too. I saw 2 does and Fog. We managed to get to an area where the fog had cleared a bit and started seeing does all over the hillside everywhere and one buck, be he disappeared quickly into the fog.

So we met up with my Dad and brother and we decided to drive for a bit, on route to another area. More Fog and a few does. Just as we were getting close to his FIL's place, we spotted some deer way up on the hill. He said he would drop us off up top and we could spend the afternoon walking back towards the house.

We get to the top and start to look around, into many open draws, and gullies. Does bedded everywhere... Everywhere! We made a plan to do a long trek around the canyon and would hunt the ridges on the other side. Saw many more does. After a few km, just as we got to within 500yds above the house, BUCK! He's 4!.... No. Wait......... Turns broadside for like 30secs. My brother and both say out loud 3 on the right. Wait... He turns and starts to run and brother shouts he's a four, take em. I could clearly see through my scope also he was 4 on the top. I took the shot off-hand with the 7mm Ruger at about 120yds and he dropped in his tracks. He landed in a big hole and it took us a while to find him walked right past the first time.... actually my brother could smell him before he found him! The meat seems fine though and has no smell after hanging so should be Ok.

Not a giant (21in width) and kind off thin, but the best Buck I have shot so far. Sorry for the long story, but for the first time ever I don't even get to bowhunt the late season.

That's a nice deer dunbartr. What time of day did you get him? What'd you get him with, rifle, calibre, bullet etc? C'mon man, details.
