I couldn't remember where I saw it originally but glad my google dug it up again recently when a friend asked how to tell the difference between the various similar sized birds and speeds in the foreshore yesterday. I also passed up some ducks after getting my limit of pintails on Sunday because I wasn't sure I wouldn't bust my limit so looked up this site again.

https://www.fws.gov/waterfowlsurveys/forms/identification.jsp?menu=identification

This site gives you various videos for each species - breaks them down by divers, dabblers, etc and talks about key ways to identify the various waterfowl in a very nice manner.

And there is a link to a test. While half of these birds I've never seen before it would be useful for the odd one that might come into your area before you take the safety off and start blasting.
