I spotted a couple does, with this guy in tow. I blew on my fawn distress call and the does came charging. He had no choice but to follow. 75 yard shot and my season is done (thank god)

he is 25 inches wide

Nice buck Tod.....is the season about to close up in your area?? Just wondering about the "thank god". Have seen you whack a yote or two in your efforts to get one like this down.

season closes on Friday, and I have to work Wed/Thurs but I would of been able to get out Friday for the morning. I've been seriously hunting deer since mid October, and passed on a few ok bucks and I was expecting to eat tag soup. I am kinda burned out from deer hunting, and I actually had given up the idea of hunting deer my last two days of the season and was actually out looking for a coyote tonight when I luckily came across this guy. Usually I shoot the odd coyote while deer hunting, tonight was the opposite

actually it went right through him :???: the lungs were mushy pulp. I had to wait for him to turn perfectly broadside, because I knew hitting bone would be bad. 3500 fps impact :o not something I would go out and try to do, but I knew the limitations of the bullet and Im glad it all worked out.

Nice buck and congratulations on making do with what you had in your hands at the time, and waiting for the best opportunity. We many times overanalyse what rifle we need and then end up getting an opportunity at very modest range.

I'd be careful about sticking a mount that will be subjected to fairly high heat. Talk to your taxi man..he should know more.

Is that a Pacific Energy insert?? New??

Renos look good although they're a tad feminine for my taste:wink:.

I was thinking that too, although the tiled part of the chimney going vertical above the stove (yes PE insert $$$$$$) isnt actual chimney, the chimney angles back from the stove to outside. The tiles are cool to the touch above the mantle.

for the record I did not hang the stockings, or the other stuff :???: :-D

It's not the tile I'd be worried about. It's the heat rising from the insert.

Mr 2007 would be wise to hold his ground:).
