Saw these guys working out their neck muscles this morning right off of 232. Decided to see how close I could get and I got so close that I could have petted the smaller buck. Didn't realize just how majestic the Booner was until I got right up close. Never been so close to this caliber of a blacktail before. What a beauty!

Nice buck but kind of like the yellowstone and other park posts or town animal post etc of people trying to see how close they can get to
animals.

That must be some ancient deer crossing or something. I live and work locally here in ridge, and I always see deer there. They don't seem to be bothered much considering the frickin chaos during school drop off and pick up in that area!

They are out there. Saw some similar blacktail bucks last week up in the alpine… from a helicopter unfortunately… about 60 km from the closest road. I like yours better!

Grow your hair long throw on a backwards hbc hat roll up in a 80s camaro and smoking a gager. And send some arrows at it. Yell ridge what if anybody questions you.

Beauty buck, living in and around residential areas, he'll probably die of old age. LOL We've got the same thing here on the Sunshine Coast, suburbia deer. LOL A couple years a go there was a photo in the local rag that a had three stud bucks on the Gibsons waterfront board walk.

Cool HTL! Awesome experience beauty buck, I think they got the best looking faces/hides out of the three Deer. Really good for mounts, even though i'm more of a skull mount guy.

Totally, I grew up in Ridge until I was 19 and now i'm back and have always seen Deer there and lots of Bucks. I seen two bucks when I was about 15 a little west over by the Horse grounds and Ranch restaurant and they seemed like twins, anyways they were absolutely massive, looked like Mulie's! Their antlers were so red i'll never forget that!

Not there, too far in city limits and surrounded by private property pretty much no public land where he is. I hunt with my compound bow in the bow/single shot projectile shotgun only areas. I actually put a stand up this year in bow only area, wish he was on my cam around there haha.

I believe there is a certain land feature that is not far from there that the ones that do migrate lower follow down from the high country and golden ears and come down into outskirts of town to winter. Could be wrong haven't spent much time but seems that way

This shed my Old Man found on my grandpa's property literally right up the street from that Buck, my Grandpa is passed away now and we sold the property. But there were always Deer and Bear there and a lot of Salmon spawned up his creek too. Funny my old man goes hunting in 3-30 for big Rut Mulies back in the day got skunked on that trip only to come home and unpack his gear when he took over my Grandpa's house for a while after he passed, to see a huuuge 4 point blacktail staring at him in the yard hahah ironic.

I think the closest crown land might be Golden Ears which is a few km as the crow flies and I've never looked to see if hunting is allowed there. Where these two were, was in the middle of where the Alouette river is split in two, and I think they must use the river as a travel corridor.

It's amazing that there's still that number of deer in that area as they've leveled much of the Silver Valley with row homes. That used to be prime habitat.

If only MR had a bylaw like Williams Lake (and I think PG) where it's legal to harvest an animal with a bow within city limits during hunting season eh? Wonder if Clearwater has a similar bylaw?

Yeah there are some slivers here and there but really nothing to hunt for a ways, I have looked into Golden Ears before and you can't hunt there unless something has changed, but some of these parks it can be better to call instead of just going on the website, I only went on the site.

Now that's funny. I actually asked one of the moderators how to change my handle a few years ago and got no response. Dont you worry - I harvest the city all the time and particularly in the fall and right now when the chicken of the woods are growing on the cherry trees and if we get some rain, the Shaggy Manes should start sprouting any week now

Ok good to know that's what I figured. Bucks born in that area seem to have won the lottery

And this is even funnier! If you've got some connections and a Camaro, I can supply the gagers (which is such a great word that I haven't heard in 20 years). Deal?

Forgot about the hat! I think I'm on thin ice with the mods so I won't be reaching out to them for a hat. Maybe Arctic Lake might have a source?
