There is lots of elk calves showing in the area I have hunted over the past 50 years.
Over the past years there has not been many calf elk showing because of the wolves

Hopefully the wolves have moved on or have been controlled..

Great to see! I've also been hearing that's there's a lot of moose being sighted with twins in the Cariboo which is encouraging

I would agree with Wayne's observations. Seeing a higher ratio of calves to cows this year. I do know trapping has taken a higher number of wolves in the area. It's big country though. I'm seeing less grizzly as well. But perhaps I should say that on here.

Might be do to favourable weather. I think this plays a large part on the number of calves or fawns a elk or deer has.

i do agree I have seen more calves and fawns this year. It’s great

Its a great sign the predators are slumping. A few years of that and the ungulate numbers will compound quickly.
