Those are ice balls on his neck, was minus 12 at the lake, was colder up top.Must be from the snow we had the nite before. My son and I passed up roughly 18 to 20 legal bucks this year, some we saw twice, so the count would be lower. I'll try to post some pics of our season so far, i got a 7x7 leh bull, my son filled his mulie and white tail tags, I was with big fish canada on his mule deer hunt, incredible shot!! Was also with his bro in law for a successful leh cow moose draw! Its been a blast, and still 2 weekends left!

Splat..... Donk.

Them are the sounds of my eye's hitt'n the puter screen and my jaw dropping on the floor.

If only I could be living in the hills...

Patience, M Dean, must have hunted 90 days in two years, passed over 40 bucks. This guy has way more patience than most.

Well deserved dear M Dean!!!! Wish I was with ya instead of nursing the hangover that morning!

Big Fish Canada, I listened intently for the sounds of yours and Kellys quads, sure could have used some good packers!!!tried to get you guys on the radio, no luck. If you drank coffee like i do, not only do you feel better in the morning, but you can remember the nite before perfectly!!! Yes, i passed up quite a few bucks, some real nice 4x4s,was starting to question if i was a hunter or just a wannabe guide!!! Was worth the wait!!! Now hopefully a white tail? Thanks to everyone for all the great comments, makes it all worth while!!!

That IS a nice one for sure. I also think it's real nice of the neighbors to let you drop it in a residential area when everyone else has to get out of town.
Just joking of course. Well done!

I can't help wonder...what would you have shot if you waited until the last day ?

The reason we see a lot of bucks has to do with the amount of time we spend in the bush.I hunt every weekend bar none! I'm out before daylight, come home around 10:00 get my chores done and header back out.We live were we can ride our quads from the house, no trailering. i have missed only 2 days hunting this year, both from a screwed back dragging animals. We know the area very well, last year our passed up legal buck count was 27!Yes, 27!!! I never took one but my boy got a nice one, he's from the coast so his hunting time is a bit more limited. If you don't have the time to wait, it's had to pass on a decent buck. Now is the time most big bucks are taken, i know that i'll be out there till last day,so unless i see a nice one, i don't shoot.Yes, it's hard wondering if your going to see a bigger one than the one your looking at,it's a gamble that you take!! In hind sight, i kicked my ass passing up one late season buck last year,my gun was frozen, could not chamber a round, had a 223 also with me but didn't use it,i try not to think about that one!!!

Sorry M. Dean, that's not a pass. That's an attempt to kill, that gone south.

Good making up on it this year though.
