I have one area thus far to go and scout out. I’d really appreciate a bit of insight in to the area, if any are willing. Looking for maybe a couple FSRs to check out. PM me if you’d like. Obviously, I don’t want your honey holes. Just looking for a starting place beyond the one spot I’m going to check out at some point this fall. The draw is for all of November. Thanks.

Not a lot of area to hunt. A bow would be best. Find some crown land not far from town. And hike off the road.

Why would bow be best?
I can't think of any scenario where bow would be best if the area allows both bow and gun :/

I’d be looking into if they are limiting access due to the recent fire

They are limiting access above 1920m in parts of 3-16 and 3-32. According to the regs, all the specific spots named are in 3-32. The only one I couldn’t find was Nine Mile Ridge. Otherwise access should be fine

Id probably burn the tag and look for a buck. Save a doe!

I had this draw a few years ago and managed to luckily tag out but the amount of deer I seen just off the road which couldn’t be shot with a gun made me think a bow was best. Texas creek rd is full of sharp rocks and lots of big rocks ready to roll onto the road. Also didn’t see much deer sign up there. You can hunt the other side heading towards pemberton but you’ll need a good 4x4 for the deep cross ditches

I’ll take a look at the maps. I’m thinking of accessing from the west in a couple spots. Just have to go and get eyes on the spots too. Time is a big factor and there isn’t enough of it!

You can access any area.... maybe not always piston propelled ;-). Agree, find a buck....

If I find a buck while out there, I’ll take a buck. Otherwise, I have the antlerless authorization.

Think about it, they cut us back to 1 mule deer per season and yet they still give out doe tags. Disgusting.
