Well this morning my dad gave me a ring and asked if I'd feel like trying to put a stalk on a Mule deer that was spotter on the mountain that is virtually my backyard. So on our way we went, got a good look at where he sat. He was with seven does, and happened to lay day as we were watching him. Well off we go up the hill the wind starts screwing us around, blowing right uphill into this deers face. So anyway we work our way around to where we think the wind is ok and this deer wont smell us, and out of know where pops five does. The does are fine no problem with us.. We ignore them and creep over the hill to be suddenly stopped by this bucks head raisin out of the sagebrush, By all means he's not a monster but would have been just fine for my first bowkill. He's only twenty yards away, I knock an arrow but he's too smart, clearly he had the upper hand. As he started to trot off I followed him but he just kept getting farther and farther away. Oh well, I was busted, My dad and I both knew there were a bunch of sheep right over the next hill, So I figured I might as well snap some photos for you guys. Enjoy!
