Every year I travel hundreds or even thousands of miles to hunt deer, elk, and moose. I live in squamish with my backyard crown land (literally) and rarely do I hunt there. Last Tuesday evening I decided I was going to hunt every day untill season end for one hour before going to work. On Wednesday at 6:45 am I drove my quad out of my garage and headed for the clear cuts above my house. I saw 3 does and was encouraged. On thursday I pulled out again at 6:45 and got 300 yards from the house and saw a doe on the power line. Normally I would have kept going as I have seen lots of does there but never a buck but for some reason I decided to circle her. I edged up a small rise to see where she was and low and behold she had company. It was 7:00 am and I was back at home getting my 8 year old twin girls out of bed to help me gut it and get it on the quad. They had quite a story for show and tell.

There's lots of deer in many of our back yards, we just need to look. Good going.

I put a space in your text to make the links work. Try using a photobucket account, your pictures will be much larger!!

Very nice deer Humble Hunter. Back in the days when I lived in Illinois I just had to walk across the road from my house and found myself in perfect pheasant country. A 15-minute drive got me into a small state forest that was loaded with deer because no hunter wanted to be that close to civilization. Often we overlook the places that are right in front of our noses.

Well done and congratulations.
