After a 2 year break due to covid the BC all breed pointer club just opened entries for a field trial in Princeton on 23-24 April. http://bcabpc.ca/ft-entry-form/
If there are any newbies with young dogs a very experienced trainer friend of mine is planning to put on a quick field trial training session or two leading up to that weekend.
Location will depend on numbers but either Chilliwack or Mission. Will be a great opportunity to learn the basics of how to run a dog in competition and meet some other likeminded folk! PM me for more details.
