Looking for dog trainers on the island

I’m getting a Brittany dog in a few weeks, and I’m wondering if anyone would have a trainer they would recommend on the island? Or, in the absence of a hunting dog trainer, any good books or resources on how to do it yourself?

If you are anywhere near Parksville this weekend the VIPDC are holding a 2 day field trial. There are several brittanies entered. It would be a great opportunity to come meet some like minded folk and get some early tips and suggestions on training.

Some of my go tos are the Standing Stone Kennel YouTube channel or George Hickox DVD (if you still have a DVD player lol). For training supplies Canadian gun dog supply has a lot of awesome stuff but shipping is sometimes a little slow so order ahead of time!
