I went this morning to fill my doe draw in region 5-02. The place I go is about a 40 minute climb to the top of the mountain in order to cut off the deer on thier way to bed down for the day. As I got to the top I spotted a nice sized doe on the ridge as she moved off. I thought I heard something behind her so I waited. All of a sudden I spotted a head with antlers go by. After checking the wind I formulated a plan and off I went after the antlers instead of the doe. Approx 15 minutes later there he was standing there looking at me. All I had was a neck shot. The 45-70 with 420gr craterlites did an excellent job dropping him on the spot.

Of course I had forgot the camera today so I had to take these terrible pictures in the back of the truck when I got home.
