What information would you be looking for?

I know the Provincial sheep biologists have looked at the vulnerability and survivability of sheep in many areas, and in their words, they have struggled in their assessment and landing on the proposal of LEH for Sheep in R4 was difficult for them.

There is a map circulating which has the MU's in R4 divided into smaller areas, and they are looking for input on the boundaries of these areas.

The difficulty with the current process is the posting of regulation changes on the Engage BC is generating a lot more negotiation around resident hunter displeasure with the current trend to shift a lot of hunting to LEH. And this ongoing discussion, while appreciated by representatives of resident hunters, is leading us further to a life under LEH wildlife management rule. This is not acceptable.

The primary concern for Government is 'conservation'. We can all agree with that. What we don't agree on are the solutions being presented by Government. And when we consider the treaty 8 decision in R7, there is a justified increase in concern by residents.

I've been gathering data lately around LEH, and a residents home location. In R4, only 24% of resident hunters apply for any LEH. This suggests R4 residents hunt the GOS, or BOS primarily. We want the freedom to hunt. We want opportunity to hunt.

All inclusive LEH, the lottery, will end hunting within 1 or 2 generations.
