With rememberance week booked off we headed to region 3 to try and locate some mature muleys. But after a 4 solid days of hunting and no sign of any rutting activity. Seen well over 100 does and not one buck. We pulled out of region 3 and headed for region 8 for whiteys.

With 3 days left, dad and I hit the hills hard. The deer seemed very spooky. With the leh doe season and the rut already underway. I am sure the long weekend hunters put a hurt on in the area. Still seeing deer and some smallish bucks it was just a matter of time untill something big would show up.

I hit a favorite honey hole one morning and found this guy with a single doe. A quick look and decided to take him. One off hand shot from 80 yards was all that was needed.

congrats nice buck, that must have been the last deer in region8, we are suffering the same fate as region 3
