Was thinking of flying into Jennings lake area for a caribou moose hunt. Earliest I can fly in is oct 2nd I’m worried that the caribou would have migrated out of the area by then?
Does anyone have any experience with this and willing to PM me?
thank you!

Caribou seem to go through that area a lot earlier in the early parts of Sept from what I can tell. We saw a ton of sign from earlier Sept when we flew in late Sept and early Oct. Didn't end up seeing any when we were there but only been once.

Good luck eating a big bull from October. Good chance it wont be very good meat. This is from first hand experience.

Caribou populations have relatively small defined rutting areas they will congregate to starting in mid September. I can't speak to whether that's a rutting area. High elevation lakes get dicey with ice in October as well. Your pilot will know whether it's feasible.

October Caribou is gross to eat as well.
