Walking the other day up to a kill site looking for wolves and a big mature bobcat jumps uo runs 30yds and hides behind a stump.
One shot two the top of the lungs and bottom of spine and done...
Punch tag and feild dress like a rabbit and take it to taxidermist and skin.

Skull is done in slow cooker.

Now the rest of the carcass i am thinking a 7day saltwater brine followed with a trip to the smoker then busted up and added to the slow cooker with some onions garlic pepper.? Thoughts?

I've had shallow fried cat cutlets. They were tasty

Been toying around with sweet and sour pork type deal or Chinese hot pot...

treat like pork...brine, marinade, slow cook.

Typical lean game meat can be dry and tough if cooked on high heat...low and slow is your friend.

Cougar, bobcat and Lynx have all been tasty.

good luck, post up pics of your bobcat and your meal

Congrats on the cat! Interested to see the methods people use here as I’ve got a bob in the freezer that needs to be cooked. Lynx I quite often just do a pulled pork style in the slow cooker and it turns out really well. With diets being different I’m not sure if a bob would produce similar results or not.

I'v had cougar at a game club dinner, just roasted, I believe. It was very good. Maybe some Kitty Meow Main. You do know how to walk a cat don't you? High and peanut oil. lol

Curious where you go near Vernon for bobcat and lynx. Thanks in advance.
