Gabriola Island

Gabriola Island?? That would be great if I could get that verified by someone. I'm under the understanding that Turkeys are almost non-existent west of Hope, unheard of in the lower mainland and rare even west of Kelowna.

Thoughts anyone???

Hi everyone. Here's an edited update to my previous post above. My brother-in-law (previous resident of Gabriola Island) has verified that there is indeed wild turkey on Gabriola Island and considered a pest by many of the residents. Most of the island is privately owned but sounds like a good hunting opportunity with the appropriate permissions. Apparently they were brought over to the island 30 some odd years ago and just grew from there.

I'd go to the Kootenays, Trail area.

More than enough to go around In the west Koots. Im not sure about Christina lake, but Nelson, Castlegar, trail, Salmo and Slocan Valley are all good places to start.

Right across the Waneta Rd along the Columbia river across from the Trail WalMart.

West Koots is full of them.
