What a freak ,that antler is coming from the lower right eye ,must be irritating for the deer ,proubly blinded him in that one eye.

Wow, unreal. Looks to me like it was fighting and ripped the antler right out on other buck, other guy here says it looks likes its growing.

I had seen this pic a few times before but no accompanying story. It is a real interesting picture. Not sure if he got gored during a rut or it is growing out of the side of his head. It does not appear to show any trauma on the side of the head. It also appears to be alive at the end of the protrusion or has attached tissue where it may have been ripped out from that end. It also appears tooth like at the end of which I have never seen before. It would be nice to know the real story.

I would say that it is the remmanents of a twin that never fully developed. IMO, the end of the abnormal horn growth looks like a hoof.

I think he is growing it. I dont know the story but it looks kinda like peeling velvet at the bottom.

Actually now that I look at it closely.........that antler is growing out of his eye! Wild! Are you going to get him mounted?
