Hello.
I very much appreciate and enjoy reading members stories... it's been good learning material as well. Therefore I thought I will share my hunt experience. On a first day of the hunt I hiked up slowly to the very top of a fairly large cut...I got to roughly 200 m to the timber. I assumed position behinde small group of young trees and gave my best cow moose serenade ....seconds later I thought I heard distant moose barking...my first impression was that I was delusional .....So I did it again - three in a row cow calls....and now I was sure I had a customer :)
Waited a bit listening carefully for any movement then called again ....I got response right away.....checked for wind - it was coming from my left - the bull was coming right in front of me . As I was busy figuring out the logisticks, he came out from ther timber looking right in my direction. I was hiding behind large stump about 120 m from him. He turned right, trying to flank me and get a scent of me. I saw him moving but because of the small brushes in front of me I could not get a clean shot. Then he turned towards me, cleared the brushes and gave me nice clean side view....Shot him behind the shoulder and he took off like someone just spanked his ass. He run about 50 m, and I shot him again .....The rest is in the pics and video.
I must say - It was very lucky day!
