Well, I decided to take advantage of the long weekend and the late youth hunt in region 8.
Hunted the regular season, saw in total 23 does and 1 little spike buck.
Wasn't even light out today and my dad spotted a doe standing on the top of a knob. We glassed and saw another doe to the right of it, and sure enough, keep going right and there was another deer, a buck.
So we waited till light, watching the deer feed.
And boom, through the lung and out the other side!
We figure 150 yards, with the .270 REM

Right on grizguy! Great buck with a Great cal. I spent 10 days looking for deer this year and the only ones I,ve found have been beside the highway on the way to work!:roll: I'd take that one in a heart beat, probally faster.

Yes 6 k, it is a wonderful caliber. Just got it all fixed up with new trigger and safety, got rid of the old wooden stock. Looks amazing.
And for deer! Only things we've really been seeing are does.

Thats not where we shot it, just drug it there. It was still close to the road though and was an easy drag because its all downhill.
