Definitely a better year with the dry spring. But still not the same as when I was a kid.

Definitely a better year with the dry spring. But still not the same as when I was a kid. this hunt was definately comparable to hunts of my youth,,,,damn good year so far,,,,and we only 5 days into it,,,,,plus,,,my deer spots holding 4 points,,,3 points,,,,but no whitetail yet in my spot,,,which is weird,,,,cause i get both of my whitetail outa same spots every year,,,,,fire smoke and drought might have pushed them lower im thinking

wow, congrats - what a blast. Two more weeks in school and I'm going to carve out a few days to go after some delicious birds.

Good job brad. We went out near Elkheart, near Beaverdell and near Trail. Only saw birds in Trail area. I’ve killed lots in the other spots in past years. It was pretty stormy weather though, so I’m sure they were just hunkered down. My dogs usually find them no matter what though, so not sure what to think.

We are in Elko now and will have a poke around this morning. I saw one fly right at dusk, but was busy setting up camp...

Nice haul. They probably thought that you were some yuppy hiker because you weren't dressed in full camo and they were safe.................
