Well folks, good day and hopefully everyone is somewhere far less Smokey and burnt than I am.. Happy BC day!

now onto the good stuff, I again apologize for the couple week delay wrapping this up and lack of clarity some people experienced… but, we even after all that we still had a good turn out and some big ol bears submitted for taste testing!

Winners, please PM me (just cleared inbox) with your First/Last name phone number and email address and prizes will be dealt with digitally for everyone’s convenience.
the skinning knife will be mailed separately of course.

id firstly like to thank everyone who donated along side me!

Great North Precision with a $200 matched donation
Walks with Deer with a $200 matched donation that he failed to win himself ;)
HughMan with a $100 donation to the youth prizes
MoosinAround with the Damascus skinning knife.

I will say, I did have a couple other offers for donations and support but with me going AWOL for a while there and life throwing me a curve ball I figured it was best to move forward quickly as I was already late.

I will be doing this again next spring, albeit much better laid out and many more preparations prior to season even starting, and hopefully those that I couldn’t take up on their kindness this year, would participate next year..

now onto the part everyone is here for… I apologize I can’t include pictures as I’m on mobile but I’ll give the post number of the winning submission so everyone can refer to the bear derby thread for reference if they are curious..

let me also mention, since we had a one prize per member policy and there were a submission or two that could win multiple prizes, judges made the final decision onto what category the submission went into unless the entrant otherwise specifically made note of which one they were entering.

drum roll please…

I'm usually a bear steak guy. But been making different things with it this year. Getting other people more into bear meat or back on to bear meat.
