In 16 years of putting in I’ve only gotten one draw! on the first year I got my hunting license .once again nothing. It’s really starting to seam rigged !!!! Since ,I know a few people that get multiple draws in and around the places I put in for. It really makes you wonder. Not a big deal. Gos. Here I come

What are the odds for the draws you are putting into?

I apply for one draw that has 1/3 to 1/4 odds (varies depending on year) and I get it around 1/3 to 1/4 of the time.

I have applied for some 1/30 - 1/50 draws which I have not gotten, but I would only expect to get those once every 30 to 50 years.

Region 6 moose draw for my first ever fly-in hunt. Fairly excited about the whole thing! We had 9 applications total in between me, my wife and my daughter and this is the only tag we got but it's also the one I wanted the most so I'll take it

5th year putting in for Elk/Moose/Deer/Turkey. First successful draw was last year and got a group Moose draw but 2 of 3 in group(including myself) couldn't go due to Covid region travel rules. The 1 who could didn't get one.
This year got a Turkey in December but nothing else. Open Season it is.

We just applied for the 3-14 doe draw like we normally do. Usually one or both of us gets it. High odds draw, usually 3:1 or 4:1... think I have even seen it as high as 2:1. She got it this time around. Now we have a backup plan if for any reason we get shut down from our R2 deer hole as it happens from time to time. Hoping to tag out in bow season though :D

Zero again for 7 years. Maybe time to boycott an apparently inept & unfair lottery for leh’s. If enough stop giving them free money for nothing they might retool the system to be truly fair-using something like a blindfolded draw or bingo drum draw mechanism. If nothing pre-emptive is done then 2 things will continue:1. aiding & abetting an unfair system that usurps our hard-earned money 2. discouragement of the hunting community because of apparent bungling &/or favouritism. Worst case scenario: the whole leh system is shut down & we go to a totally fair, general open season. Best case scenario: a totally fair leh draw system without conditions & biases which should have been from day one.

Lol, this coyote and his hunting partners have been very fortunate and done pretty well in the LEH's so far. No need to stop rolling the dice every year to appease others that havent.

3 of us have been putting in for 5-01 for 12 years. 2 of us have property there so that is where we spend the first week of October.

With moose at about 25:1 and antlerless mule deer at 34:1 for that time frame, the odds should of been in hour favour by now but nope. Nil for all of us again. Oh well. I will enjoy watching the bulls chase the cows and the finding a nice buck is probably more fun than shooting the first for I see. But I would really like to compare it.

Seems to work fine. It is a lottery and its just luck of the draw….random. I just went 20yrs without getting a draw until this year and I put in for pretty much all species some low and some high odds areas every year and change it up. In 35yrs have drawn 2griz, 2goat, 1sheep so can’t complain. Never a moose, bison, rosy in 35yrs. Like said just went 20yrs with nothing. This year I changed it up and waited to the last 2hrs to put in instead of at the start and what do you know….success. Need to keep in mind if the odds are 10:1 on avge for a zone you keep trying for, statistics would say you might get drawn once per 10yrs….that said you still might never get drawn, or you might get drawn more than once in ten years. Its a lottery….random. Hard to get much more fair than that and hard to explain how some just seem to have the luck. Yes there can be long dry spells……always GOS!! Never won the lotto max yet …..maybe one of these days!

We are all very excited around my household. After putting in for years and years and years, I was awarded my first LEH, antlerless mule deer in 3-20.

EVEN BETTER!, My 12 year old son who completed is CORE this year got an authorization for bighorn sheep ewe/lamb 3-29 zone c. One authorization handed out and the lucky little bugger got it! We couldn’t be happier. He is stoked! Beginners luck. What a great way for a father and son to share time together. We will be putting a range schedule together to ensure he is shooter ready. We have lots to plan but what is also neat is my neighbor had this same draw last year and was successful, so there is a lot of good info to go off of already. This is really shaping up to be a fantastic season. I’ve got two spring black bears in the freezer and lots more hunting to do later in the year.
